Richard Torrez

Richard graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1967 and obtained his Associate's degree in Business Management from St. Philips College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army where he received The Bronze Star, The Air Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal while in Vietnam.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Vanita Torrez-Harvison (Adam), his son, 1st Sgt Richard Anthony Torrez (USMC Ret.), his daughter, Valerie Torrez-Tafoya; his grandchildren Daniel Bernal Jr. (Bianca), and Valena Tafoya; great grandchildren Riley Bernal and Kiley Bernal; sisters Jean Arredondo (Richard), Luz Contreras, Beatriz Preston (Dan) and brother, Fred Torrez (Gloria); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Petra Torrez and best friend and brother-in-law, Ernest Contreras.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
