Robert Paul Babin Jr.

Robert Paul Babin Jr., age 62 passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 in the care of Vitas in San Antonio, Texas. Robert was born October 14, 1958 in Plaquemine, Louisiana to Robert Paul Babin Sr. and Dianne Brown (nee Radloff).

Robert was an extremely hard working man, who had a long and outstanding career in the United States Army. He retired after 22 years of service as an 11H Platoon Sergeant and retired U.S. Army civil service Hospital Housekeeping Quality Assurance Inspector. Prior to his retirement he earned accommodations such as, Expert Infantryman Badge, Master Gunner in Anti- Tank Weaponry and Certified Executive Housekeeper.

When he wasn't working he was giving his time to organizations like the National Infantry Association and the Escambia County Search and Rescue. Being part of that search and rescue team was something he truly loved. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, cooking Cajun food, playing guitar, listening to music, and growing vegetables. But spending time with his beautiful granddaughter brought him the most joy.

Robert has now reunited with his father Robert Paul Babin Sr. of Plaquemine, LA and mother Dianne Brown (nee Radolff) of Sparks, NV.

He leaves behind his sons; Joseph Babin of Converse, TX, Colin Babin and granddaughter, Zyija Babin of Pueblo, CO. His sisters Betty Babin- Dutra and Debbie Digiovanna and brother Edward Babin of Sparks, NV; brothers Leonard Babin and Glenn Babin of Plaquemine, LA; and sister Melissa O'Brien of MS.

A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and a funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A committal service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
