LT. COL. ROBERT G. Doc Blanchard U.S.A.F.RET., age 71, died peacefully in his sleep and went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, April 23, 2002. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs Lewis Blanchard of Wichita Falls, TX and brothers, Tommy, Waldo and Aubrey and sister Marze McCormick. Doc was born in 1930 in Wichita Falls, TX. He received a scholorship from the Boys Club of Wichita Falls, TX to Texas A&M University and went on to graduate in 1951 as a distinguished military student and began a career as an Air Force Officer. He married his wife, Betty Napier Blanchard, in 1952 and they had two daughters, Gail Phipps of Portland, Oregon and Susan Blanchard of San Antonio, TX. They also have two grandchildren, Chip Mattison and Ashley Phipps and son-in-law, Tom Phipps. Doc retired from the Air Force in 1977 and moved to Garden Ridge, TX , where he began another career as Justice of the Peace in Comal County for 16 years. In 1996 they moved to Air Force Village II in San Antonio. A special thank you to all his doctors and nurses at Wilford Hall Medical Center where he received many years of care and support
