Robert Randle Butler passed away from this earthly life to a heavenly life on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Randle was born January 17, 1924 in Corpus Christi, TX to very devout and loving parents, Evans S. and Elizabeth Scull Butler.
After his mother passed away, his father remarried Eldyss Caldwell, who raised him into adulthood. They lived in a small farming town-Odem, in a large matriarchal family of aunts, uncles, cousins and brother, Evans Butler whom he was very fond of.
He graduated from Odem High School, North Agricultural College, and Scarritt College for Christian workers. He joined the Navy and served his country in World War II. In San Diego he met and married the love of his life, Ruth Brown. They were married for 67 years and had two wonderful children, Rory Lee and Ronald Mark. Randle and Evans moved their families to Pecos where they were irrigated cotton farmers. After farming some 20 years Randle became a Diaconal Minister in the Methodist Church. Robert loved to fish, hunt and travel, and considered himself a person's person.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, granddaughter, Sarah and loving wife, Ruth.
He is survived by his daughter, Rory Motl and husband, Robert; son, Ron Butler; granddaughters, Betsy Burnett and husband, Phillip, Rachel Rudloff and husband Mark; grandson, William Butler; and great granddaughters, Madeline Burnett and Allie Rudloff.
