A lifelong San Antonian, he was born on April 9, 1970 to Robert and Sonny Devin and attended St. Peter Prince of the Apostles in Alamo Heights. He was a proud graduate of Central Catholic Marianist High School and counted many of his Central Catholic brothers among his closest friends. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from St. Mary's University.
Robby was Director of Risk Management at Rail America after nearly sixteen years with the company. He traveled extensively as part of his work and looked forward to each new adventure from London to Alaska. His professionalism and insight, as well as his infectious smile and gentle nature will be greatly missed among his many colleagues and friends there. Robby was also an active volunteer with the San Antonio Corral Club and San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Bar B Que Committee as Finance Chairman of both organizations. The annual cook off won't be the same without him. There were few things in his life more beloved to Robby after his friends and family than his San Antonio Spurs. He also enjoyed cooking, fantasy football, spending time with his friends and family, and making people laugh.
Most of all, Robby was a loving father and husband. He was diagnosed with stage IV cancer just one month before the birth of Peyton and Maggie and despite his illness, gave every ounce of his strength to spending as much time as possible with his children. Robby will serve as an eternal inspiration to everyone, family and friends, who witnessed him fight to his very last hour to beat his terrible disease.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 15, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at Tejas Rodeo, 401 Obst Road, Bulverde, TX 78163. For further information please visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/robbydevin.
