

Robert, "Old Man Half Fast", passed in peace on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 90, He was born on November 26, 1930, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Talpha Madelyn and Robert H. DuBose, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene "Huni" DuBose; his sons, William Alexander DuBose and Michael David DuBose; and his parents. He was a loving father to his daughter, Jackie Nell Syrko (Michael John), granddaughter, Julie Melissa DuBose-Bartle (Michael) and his sons, Sidney Daniel DuBose (Yvonne), Robert Henry DuBose III (Dora Lucero), Dennis Dale DuBose. He is "Papa" to 26 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his service was complete he began working for City Public Service as a meter reader. One of the highlights of his later years was attending the reunions with ther other meter readers. The next chapter of his life, which was one of his proudest accomplishments, was Half Fast Boat Works and Machine Shop in Port Aransas, Texas. He and Huni ran that business until they retired back to San Antonio and settled in at Half Fast North. He spent his last few years enjoying each day with his grandkids and great-grandkids listening to his favorite songs on the radio while swinging on the front porch swing at Half Fast Farms. His love for his family and friends was remarkable and that love will be carried in each of their hearts until the day they meet again. A celebration of Roberts life will take place on December 11, 2021 at his home in New Braunfels.
