Robert Daniel Phelan, Jr., Lt. Col. USAF Ret., loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away after a brief illness on September 16, 2001. He was born in Spokane, Washington on June 27, 1929. He is survived by his wife, Claire C. Phelan; his three children, Lisa C. Murray, Daleville, AL, Robert D. Phelan, III, Corinth, TX and daughter, Sharon S. Matthews, Tustin, CA; his 5 grandchildren, Robert D. Phelan IV, William E. Phelan, Katherine E. Matthews, Kelsey L. Matthews, and Colin R. Matthews; and his Mother-in-law, Pearl Gerber.
