Robert Edward Kohler

Bob was born in Paulsboro, New Jersey on November 14.1934 to Rene Kohler and Marie Lapp Kohler. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. While stationed at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Ga he met and married Ruth Lockerman in 1957. After serving four years in the Air Force he enrolled at Mercer, University in Macon, Ga and received a bachelor’s degree in business.

Upon graduating he took a job with Royal Globe Insurance company that brought him to San Antonio, Tx in 1962. The insurance business took him to Tulsa, Ok and Peoria, Ill for a few years before returning to San Antonio in 1973.

Bob coached both of his boys in youth baseball, was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tennis with his wife and would never miss watching his grandsons play sports as they were growing up.

He was a member at Northeast Baptist Church where he was baptized and later at First Baptist Church in San Antonio where he served in various roles over the years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rene and Marie Kohler, his wife Ruth Lockerman Kohler, his brother Rene Kohler and his sister Mae Milano, and daughter-in-law Juliana Kohler.

He is survived by his sons Bobby Kohler and Scott Kohler, grandsons Gage Kohler and Guy Kohler and his sister Antoinette Fitch. Bob touched many lives, was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
