

Robert Marmor much loved Husband, Father, and Grandfather passed away at age 86 on Jan. 5th, 2013 with his family at his side. His son, Gary Paul preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Roberta Joan, his children, Mike and Kathy, his children’s spouses, Stephanie, Phyllis, Debra, his 4 grandchildren and two nieces. Robert was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 21, 1926 and immigrated to America at the age of 15. He joined the Army in 1944 and was part of Patton’s 417 Infantry Regiment. After the WWII, he graduated from Oklahoma University in 1951 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Robert’s professional career began as a Reservoir Engineer for Sinclair, in Nowata, Okla. The company transferred him to Midland Texas where he lived for eight years and earned his private pilot’s license. Later, Robert was promoted to Sinclair’s International Division located in New York. During this period he traveled frequently to South America for the company. In 1971 Robert took a position with Delhi International and relocated his family to Adelaide, South Australia. In 1979 he was invited to manage South Texas Drilling. Under his direction, the company grew rapidly and went public in 1981. Robert loved his work. He finally retired at age 73 in San Antonio. Visitation is from 6 - 8pm on Tuesday the 15th at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. San Antonio. A Memorial Service will be held on Jan. 16th, at 10:00 am at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. The Burial Service will be at 11:30 am on Jan. 16th, at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd San Antonio.
