Robert Marshall Pior left this world on June 23, 2023, much the same way he lived in it, with little notice. He was 95 and his death was preceded by his wife of 72 years, Martha Lou Mansell Pior who passed at the age of 90 only ten short months earlier.
They are survived by their four children Linda, Gary, Laura and Lisa, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. They raised all with the same exceptional values, an unwavering commitment to family, a constant consideration for others with a strong faith in God.
Bob served his country honorably during World War II as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy and afterwards attended Baylor University where he and Martha met and fell in love. He worked for many years in moving and storage and in his free time enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, winning most of the time.
Bob and Martha lived a modest life and knew how to enjoy it luxuriously, celebrating holidays and gatherings with friends and family as gracious hosts or honored guests. The occasions made more memorable and special because they were a part of it. Both were always positive and kind, never judging or having a bad word to say about anyone, they will be missed and long remembered.
Bob’s advice for a long and happy life is possessing these three things. Someone to love, something to do, and something to look forward to. Certainly, he and his beautiful wife are reunited once again waltzing among the clouds together forever.
Graveside service will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday July 13, 2023 at 9:15am with full honors.
