Roberta "Birdie" Rubio - Garza

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Roberta (Birdie) Rubio Garza, born on May 30, 1971 in San Antonio,TX to her parents, Roberto A. Rubio and Esther Gonzales Rubio. She was called to be with The Lord on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the age of 53 wonderful years.

Birdie was a 1989 Graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She continued her passion as being a Hairdresser and Cosmetologist. She loved all kinds of music,dancing and enjoyed traveling. She was an excellent cook and shared her knowledge of recipes. She also loved her mother's favorite dish, chicken enchiladas. She enjoyed collecting her favorite stuffed toys, the Highland Cows and all types of turtles.

Birdie especially will be remembered for her beautiful heart and fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone she met. She showed much kindness and courage. We will forever love and miss her dearly.

She now joins her parents in heaven, Roberto A. Rubio and Esther P. Gonzales; Maternal grandparents, Eliseo Gonzales Sr., and Francisca Palacios Gonzales; Paternal Grandparents, Gregorio V. and Lucia Arizmendez Rubio; her mother-in-law, Elena Galvez and also, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives who have gone before her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Juan Garza Jr., who always remained by her side. She leaves behind her brother, Gregorio (Greg) Rubio; father-in-law, Juan Garza Sr., Godmother, Aurora Rivas,Goddaughter, Priscilla Alvarez, Godson, Matthew Alvarez; nieces and nephews, Esther Rubio, Lucia Gonzales, Demetrio Rubio, Thomas Galvez, Jr., Andrew Galvez, Jaxon Galvez and Roman Galvez; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January, 14, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 747 S.W. 39th St., San Antonio,TX 78237.

Services will conclude at the church.
