Roberto Cervantes Acosta passed away in his home on August 23, 2016 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on December 31, 1939 to Aurora Acosta and Roberto Cervantes in La Havana, Cuba.
Roberto is survived by his loving wife, Lourdes Valls Cervantes; sister, Ysabel Cervantes; children, Roberto Alfonso Cervantes, Jorge Daniel Cervantes, and Michelle Marie Cervantes; and his grandchildren, Nathaneal Aiden Diaz, Makaylah Navina Cervantes, Mario Frometa Bordelon-Cervantes.
Roberto enjoyed time with his family, dancing, playing dominos with friends and reading Cuban poetry. A friend and comfort to many, Roberto will be dearly missed.
His family gives special thanks to the team at New Century Hospice and his personal caregivers Frank and Felicia.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, September 5th at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.
