He is survived by his family, parents, Fernando and Rose Canedo Chavarria; wife, Lisa Decker Sanchez; children, Jennifer Marie Balboa, Rodney Jose Sanchez, Jr; stepson, Brandyn Campos; siblings, Linda S. Tomasini, Adrian Sanchez, Regina Brooks, Gabriel Chavarria, Lorinda Benavides; grandchildren, Bryan Alec Balboa, Rozlynn Aliikai-Elena Sanchez, Rihanna Elizabeth-Kailani Sanchez; grandmother, Margarita Lopez; goddaughters, Caitlin I. Brooks, Addison and Audrey Decker, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked 16 loyal years at the North Side Independent School District where he established lifelong friendships. In his early years he successfully fought in the Golden Gloves. His most precious times were spent at family gatherings, especially fishing with his brother Adrian and having the opportunity to "retire" from basketball every Sunday after practice. Bubba was blessed with many family and friends who loved him and we will miss his witty humor.
