He served almost 28 years in the United States Air Force with assignments in Texas, Japan, Turkey, Philippines, Hawaii, Arkansas, Germany, Colorado, and more. Roger was a respected leader among his peers and subordinates, gaining the name Chief RAM known for RAM-Grams, his love of playing darts, and softball.
Roger is survived by loving wife, Maria McDowell; daughters, Belinda Luhring, Becky Ellison, Beth McDowell, and Vanessa McDowell; and an abundance of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
