Cpl Ruben Garza Martinez, USMC, passed away on March 9, 2017, at the age of 70. He was born in Nava, Coah, Mexico to Rodrigo and Obdulia Martinez on August 20th, 1946. He is preceded by his parents. Ruben is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Olga Martinez; his children Ruben Martinez Jr. (Sonya), Marc Martinez (Pauline), Mary Ann Martinez, and Johnny Villasana (Aurora); his grandchildren Sabrina, Celeste, Brandon Dominic, Izreal (Dee), Ciara, Jeremy, EJ, and Mia Martinez; his great granddaughter Ilyana Enri Martinez; his siblings Olga, Hortencia (Joseph), and Roger (Yolanda). Ruben loved hunting, barbequing, and he was also an adept mechanic. A visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, on Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 930 am for a mass at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 1730 Dahlgreen Avenue, on Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
