Ruben Montez

Ruben Montez, age 68, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 in Floresville, TX. He was born on March 31, 1952 in San Antonio, TX to parents, Antonio Montez and Minnie Perales. He retired from CPS Energy after 30 years of service as a Training Analyst. He was a Navy veteran, Grand Knight and member of the Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He made significant contributions to his church community by serving as a lector, eucharistic minister, CCD instructor, summer festival volunteer and ACTs retreat counselor. He was very active in Boys Scouts of America serving as Troop Leader, Scout Master, Board member of Eagle Scout Court, Instructor in the Merit Badge University, Summer Camp Director and WoodBadge member. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maria G. Montez; daughter Dr. Vanessa L. Rendon-Cazarez (Jorge); son Nicodemus A. Montez, brother Robert Montez (Santa); grandsons Alejandro Luis and Enrique Benicio, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
