Ruby Lorene Lyles born September 13, 1920, died December 21, 2002 at the age of 82. She was a very dedicated and faithful member of Alamo Heights Christian Church, where she had served in many capacities including that of Deacon. Mrs. Lyles retired from Sears Tire Center as assistant to the manger after 28 years. As a long time activist in the Republican Party for over 30 years, she had worked as Election Judge, Precinct Chairman and many other offices. Her political talents and hard work were rewarded when she was elected a delegate to the National GOP Convention in 1976. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn and sister, Jean Green. She is survived by her sons, Leslie R. Lyles and wife, Connie, Richard D. Lyles; grandsons, Jeffrey, Richard D. Jr, Brian and Bailey; great grandsons, Brandon, Ben, Zachary and Brian Jr; brother, James Ferrell and wife, Dorothy; sisters, Nell Linebarger and husband, Roger, Glenda Reeder and husband, Crawford; many loving nieces and nephews.
