It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Rudolph “Rudy” Molina, who, after fighting a lengthy battle with his illness, left peacefully in his family home on October 20, 2024.
Before his illness, Rudy enjoyed both traveling alone with his wife, Rose, and also loved taking family vacations, often enjoying trips to California and Florida. He enjoyed his weekend backyard barbecues and never gave up a chance to see his favorite Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. He always remained their loyal fan despite the game’s outcome.
Rudy will be greatly missed by his family, who were his pride and joy. His greatest role in his life was being a grandpa. He loved every minute spent with his grandchildren, whether it be a backyard game of basketball, attending school events, athletic events, helping build school projects, or being involved with the Boy Scouts. If it involved his grandchildren, he was there. He had an unconditional love for his family and always made sure his family was safe and had what they needed.
In addition to being a family man, Rudy was very hard working and dedicated to his occupation. He was employed by Kelly Air Force Base for 32 years followed by 10 years with Lockheed Martin. He was a production supervisor for the TF-39 engine and also supported multiple U.S. Air Force programs, receiving numerous outstanding and superior awards for his work performance and management skills.
Rudy was born on October 17, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to Josefina DeLaRosa Molina and Rudolph DeLeon Molina, both deceased. He leaves behind his dedicated wife of 44 years, Rose Anthony Molina; his loving daughters, Monique Molina, Justine Molina (Samy-Rae), Deborah Elizondo; grandchildren, Giovanni Grimaldo, Genavie Grimaldo, Nicolas Solis; brothers, Daniel Molina, John Michael Molina (Shirley). He is also survived by Carol Molina (Angela), Rudolph Molina III (Mary Jane), Richard Molina (Melissa), Emily Molina, Jacob Molina, as well as nieces, nephews, many extended family members and friends.
The family would also like to express a special thank you to Giovanni Grimaldo for the extraordinary care and love he provided his grandfather during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
