Ruth Ann Odom

Ruth Ann was born on March 26, 1937 to Kermit and Opal Odom, in Brownsville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Kermit and Opal, her former husband Richard A. Squire, Sr., and her brother James Odom. She is survived by her son Richard A. Squire, Jr. (Patricia) her daughter Leeann Cretser (Gary), nieces Denise Rogers (Joe), Deanna Thompson (Johnny), Debrelle Tyson (Michael), Dawn Walter, Darci Bordano (Guido), and cousins Jo Ann Walker, Bettie Hime, Rachel Feldman, Ernest Vivian, Kathie Vivian Coleman, Dan Odom, Philip Odom, and Julieann Bussey.

Ruth Ann grew up in various parts of the South, then moved with her family to Southern California where she attended Palm Springs High School and San Bernardino High School. After graduating, she met and married Richard A. Squire, Sr. and raised two children: Richard A. Squire, Jr. and Leeann Squire (Cretser). During her adulthood she learned to enjoy collecting antique telephones and antique baby bottles. She became adept at crocheting and proudly crocheted blankets for her grandchildren Lindsay Alyse Leonard and Erik Allen Cretser’s beds. She enjoyed fishing trips and visits to members of her extended family in Texas. She will be missed by all those who loved her.

A memorial service will be held on October 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. graveside, `at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
