She graduated from the University of Texas and later earned her Master's Degree. Sara taught for 20 years and retired as a librarian from Randolph High School. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her husband Wesley E. Wiechmann.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley E. Wiechmann.
She is survived by her sons, Tom Hotaling and wife Nancy of Bulverde, and James Ritchie of Austin; sister, Phyllis Whiteman and husband Charles; stepchildren, David Wiechmann and wife Christina, Leslie Wiechmann-Roddy and husband Bill, Andrea Wiechmann-Biedl and husband Richard, Patricia Wiechmann-Allison and husband Rick; numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
