Shirley Jones, born Shirley Faye Bright on 25th day of November 1934 in Gonzales, Texas, passed away march 11, 2011 at North East Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Tx with family members by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Tillie Bright; her son Joel Kirk Jones; her brother William ‘Billy’ Bright, and her grandson Christopher Mathew Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 57 yrs Jess Jones of San Antonio, Tx; son, Jeff Jones and his wife Kecia of Irvine, Ca; daughter, Kim Byers of San Antonio,Tx; daughter, Jeana Martin of Dubuque, Ia., and grandchildren Jessica, Chad, Brett, Whitney, Katarina, Ben, Josie, Katie, and Tia. She is also survived by her older brother Richard Bright and his wife Sherill, as well as a younger sister Brenda Cuvelier and her husband Bob.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at Alamo United Methodist Church on Foster Road in San Antonio, Tx on April 2nd 2011 at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, The National Children’s Leukemia Foundation, or your favorite charity.
