He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Emmamay Schaefer.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Nancy Schaefer; father, Tom A. Schaefer; brother, Charles Schaefer; sisters and their husbands, Mercedes and Brian Gorychka; Raven and Fred Labatt; and other family members; Mr. and Mrs. John M. Schaefer; Susannah Carroll; Jane Schaefer; and Sam H. Schaefer.
Stephen attended St. Luke's Episcopal School and graduated from Alamo Heights High School. He also attended South Plains College in Lubbock, TX and recently acquired his Texas Real Estate License.
He played many sports, but his love was for the game of ice hockey.
Stephen will be remembered as a loving, creative and unique personality. He will be greatly missed by his family and all his friends.
