

Stephen F. White, 65, of San Antonio died on February 25, 2014 from complications due to a stroke. He was born in Troy, New York and raised in Reading, MA, the eldest son of Robert (Bob) and Nancy. Steve graduated from Reading High School in 1967, and received a BA from Dartmouth in 1971. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army, reaching the rank of Captain. While in the Army, he applied and was accepted to law school, which he began at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas in the fall of 1977. He graduated law school and passed the July 1980 bar exam.
Stephen enjoyed a proud and illustrious legal career that spanned over three decades. He was board certified in personal injury trial law, and an "Advocate" with the American Board of Trial Advocates. These are just two of the most prestigious awards and accomplishments he possessed. He was considered one of the best trial lawyers of his generation and will be greatly missed in the San Antonio legal community.
He leaves his beloved and devoted wife Elena and her son Filip; his daughter Kimberly Seawell and her husband Martin; his daughter Jennifer Studley and her husband Heath; and his son Robert. He also leaves behind 7 brothers and sisters: his sister Susan Cameron; his brother Robert and wife June; brother, Tom and wife Meg; brother Mark Elgart and wife Cecily; brother Jonathan Elgart; brother Timothy White; and sister Margaret (Peg) Checchi and husband Pierre. He also leaves his mother Nancy and his stepfather Larry Elgart, and stepmother Patricia White.
Stephen also had 4 grandchildren: Christopher Seawell, Anissa Gallion and husband Cody; Stephen Seawell; and Alayna Rose Marino. He also had the privilege of being a great-grandfather to Gracelyn Gallion. Also left behind are 12 nieces and 2 nephews.
