My heart is breaking for you and your family, David. I know how close you were, and how much used to make each other laugh. It was a privilege to care for Stephen at Imagine Wellness during his final weeks. Though our time with him was brief, he became a cherished part of our home. Stephen’s kind spirit, bright blue eyes, and handsome smile brought light to those around him. We did our best to make him feel comfortable, valued, and laugh throughout the day. It was truly an honor to walk with him during this chapter of his journey. He will be remembered with affection and respect.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Stephen’s passing. As former colleagues, we had the privilege of working alongside him for over five years, and we will always remember his kindness, professionalism, and the positive spirit he brought to the workplace each day.

Stephen made a lasting impact on all of us not only through his dedication and contributions, but also through his warmth and character. He will be sincerely missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing and working with him.

It is 2016. Steve and I kept talking about getting together to see what could be the Chicago Cubs’ last playoff game of the year. Ever the Cub fans, we always hedged our bets that they could keep going. Life is busy so we had not gotten together to watch. 

I’ll never forget the moment the Cubs won the pennant against the Dodgers to go to the World Series. It was game six and we finally connected at a local bar. We were the only ones watching the game. The moment they won, you could hear a pin drop as it set in. 

After that moment we cheered and hugged each other to celebrate. It was a special moment for two guys with unrealistic lifetime expectations. 

I’ve known Steve for many years. He was a confidante and friend. We bonded over our love of the Cubs and raising our kids with empathy and humanity. Peace be with his family and friends.

To hear of Steve's passing saddened my heart.  I met Steve at SARMA and enjoyed our occasional conversations.  My condolences to his family and friends.
