In the early hours of Sunday, the 28th, Steve suffered a stroke. He was rushed to the hospital that morning but the damage was too much. He held on as long as he could and finally, surrounded by family and friends, he passed at 6:52 Tuesday night.
He was a good man.
Steve was a husband, father, brother, gear head and, oh yes, a Marine. He was also a first rate wise ass and in the last moments, as always, he got the last laugh. Steve leaves behind his loving wife Mary, son Christopher, brother Kevin, and countless other friends and family.
Steve's ashes will be buried at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas following a memorial service at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church.
A memorial service in honor of Steve's life will be held at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, 11 St. Luke's Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78209 on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
