

Steve is survived by his parents, Lieutenant Colonel James Wallace, USAF (Ret.) and Muriel Leland of San Antonio; wife, Robin Fennessey Leland and their daughters, Jordan Leland of San Antonio and Jenna Leland of New Braunfels, his previous wife, Robyn King Leland and their daughters, Sharon and husband, Michael Hoffman of Lubbock, Texas, Diane and her husband, Kenneth Hilton of Dallas, Texas, and former wife, Dana Petri Leland and their sons, Tate, Banks and Rush Leland; grandchildren, Alex and Ben Hoffman, Keegan Pevehouse and Dean Courtney.
He is also survived by siblings, Michelle Leland of San Antonio, William Leland of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Candace Miller of Garden Ridge, Texas.
He is preceded in death by daughters, Avery, and Addison and son, Steven Leland of San Antonio, Texas. Steve was born on June 21, 1958 in Tacoma, WA. He graduated from Churchill High School in 1976 and earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Steve was an accomplished airplane mechanic who began his lifelong career in the aviation industry working as a mechanic at Fairchild Aerospace Corporation.
Over the next four decades he rose to Vice President and General Manager at Fairchild/M7 Aerospace. Steve's aviation career spanned both commercial and military sectors as well as owning his own consulting business. He took great pride in his work and the various programs he contributed to, including defense, homeland security, and commercial aviation in support of the Army and Air Force National Guard and the Navy.
His children remember him as a hard working father who encouraged them to live their lives to the fullest and pursue their dreams. His passion was restoring antique cars, specifically vintage SAABs, and often spent hours tinkering in his garage building custom parts from scratch. He had a love for travel and adventure and was able to fulfill his desire of exploring the world. He was a loving father, a dedicated son, and a witty friend.
A visitation will be held on
Friday, May 22, 2015
beginning at 1:00 pm
at Porter Loring North
with a Service at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park North.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve's life.
