Suncha lived life to the fullest and cared for everyone around her to include her family and friends. She cherished her flowers in the garden she created in her backyard and loved to smell and touch every flower around her. She was a wonderful chef specializing in both Asian and American country cuisines. She was gifted with artistic abilities to include drawing, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She loved to take car rides to look at nature, especially deer, throughout San Antonio.
Suncha was a twice over a war child. She was born in Tsuruoka, Japan to a Japanese mother and a Korean father. She was 4 years old when atomic bombs fell on the Japanese cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, where she came into contact with the fallout of the nuclear blasts. After the war in Japan, her father decided to take her back to his homeland of South Korea, where in 1950 they were casualties of the Korean War. Her father was executed by the North Korean and Communist Chinese Armies and she became an orphan. Suncha endured the horrific and tragic events of the Korean War. It was during this time she met Christian Missionaries that gave her comfort and prayed with her and gave her a bible written in Korean which she has to this day.
Suncha was a survivor of both wars, lived as an orphan, yet she stayed positive and her love for God allowed her to succeed. She met her husband Benjamin Anderson in South Korea and stayed married for 62 years and had their son Jackie. She came to the United States in 1967 and lived in Laurel, Maryland with her husband and son. In 2008 she and her husband moved to San Antonio, Texas to be close to her son and his wife, where she lived in her beautiful home.
Suncha always worked hard and retired with a company called Micros, which made computer boards for cash registers. It was a highly technical job and she was admired by her superiors for always exceeding expectations and encouraging others to do their best.
Her love for God and Jesus was evident in her prayers and the way she loved everyone. Even during her stay in the hospital she led many to Jesus by her love for God.
She will be remembered for her generosity, love of family and friends and her devout love for her faith in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
