Sylvia was born in Harlingen, TX to Hesiquio and Elodia Sifuentes on May 9, 1958. She graduated from La Feria High School in 1976. She attended college at Texas A&M University-Kingsville from 2002-2003. She took much pride in a job she loved for many years as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She worked in restaurants and in the hospitality industry in her later years and enjoyed a simple life with her oldest son Artie, with whom she lived her last 24 years. She remained active spending time with her sisters and attending concerts of the Heart of Texas Concert Band and any other groups in which her son has been blessed to perform. Sylvia was also a huge fan of WWE Wrestling. She was a very caring and loving person who would feed you if you came to her home and make sure you left with food to take home. She very much enjoyed baking, especially for or with her sisters. Sylvia had a passion for dogs, especially chihuahuas, and loved sharing dog videos and cooking videos on her social media.
