Dr. Truman Hulan Yarbrough was born February 14, 1938 in Cherokee, Texas to Faye Cavness and Warren Truman Yarbrough. He died on December 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness. His early years were spent in Lampasas where he graduated from Lampasas High School. He received a B.S. degree from Abilene Christian University and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas in 1964 from Houston. He was a member of Psi Omega professional fraternity. He and Jane Elzner from Beaumont, Texas married in 1960. He practiced for one year in Portland, Texas then moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1965. He started his dental practice in Universal City, Randolph area where he continued to care for his patients for over 46 years until his retirement due to his health. He was a life member of the San Antonio District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He thoroughly enjoyed his profession and was very dedicated to his patients. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. His favorite times were spent on his ranch in South Texas and numerous hunting trips to Colorado. He is survived by his two sons, Dr. Byron Hulan Yarbrough and wife, Lisa of San Antonio and Brent Warren Yarbrough of Dallas. He was very proud of his three grandchildren, Caroline Jane Yarbrough, Kate Conner Yarbrough and Chase Truman Yarbrough, all of Dallas. He is also survived by his sister Darlene and husband, Dr. Gordon T. Hill of San Antonio and two nieces Courtney Hill and husband, Eric Chamberlain of Keller, Texas and Kelli Hill and husband, Robert Spence of Oak Harbor, Washington, and his close friend, Nancy McCauley. The family is grateful for the wonderful dedication of his care giver, Ruthie Knox over the last several months. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
