Teresa was born in the Republic of Panama on June 13, 1938. She came to the U.S. in the early sixties and lived and worked in Detroit Michigan.
She met her husband, Loren Adams in February of 1967 and they were married for 48 wonderful years.
Teresa loved to travel to places she had not visited previously and would get excited at every opportunity to do so. She was family oriented and loved each of her family members passionately and found great joy in spending any time with them that she could.
She loved her church sisters and brothers and would treat them as though they were her own children. That is why many called her, "Mom." She served as an usher at Livingway for several years and even when she could no longer serve, she continued to support and help that ministry in whatever way she could.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Loren Adams; two daughters, Burnadette Simms and Roxanne Adams and her son, Loren Adams, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Adelaida. She is also survived by her sister, Lorena Manning; her brother, Rogelio Manning, both of California and her brother, Delbert Manning of Panama. She has eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
These along with the many she has positively touched with her life represent her legacy.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to CIMA Hospice for their wonderful support in her final day.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.
