Terrence Tremell Ealoms, born January 10, 1990, an aspiring young poet who touched countless lives with his story of survival and courage, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Methodist Children's Hospital. He died of complications of a spinal cord injury incurred in 1997.
He is survived by parents, Steve and Judy Foster; grandparents, Mary and James Fitch, Melva and Maurice Foster; siblings, Stephen Foster Jr, Traci Martin, Bertha Jones, Tonikay Foster, Deborah Mitchell, Tara Foster, and Stephani Foster.
He is also survived by birth relatives, mother, Angelina Ealoms; father, Milton Patterson; grandparent, Ora L. Davis; brother, Tronkeith Ealoms; and stepbrother Galvin Steel; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Mr. Ealoms is the author of Echoing Faith, a published compilation of inspirational poems. The poetry in the book depicts the rigorous up and down journey Terrence travelled while in foster care and various care facilities across Texas.
Prior to his passing Terrence Ealoms was able to accomplish everything on his 'Bucket List', including becoming a published author, taking a real girl to a real dance "CAMP dances just aren't legit." - T, remodel his room to where it was more suitable for a 'Kings Crib', participate in public speaking engagements where he would have the opportunity to share with his community the hard learned lessons of his experience, and his personal favorite locating the best Hot Wings in San Antonio.
The last proved to be surprisingly more work than he anticipated, however after over a year of searching Terrence concluded that the best wings in San Antonio could be found at Hooters, the location off of Wurzbach Road near the Medical Center to be precise. Terrence defended this claim vehemently, stating the dcor had nothing to do with his decision.
Terrence took advantage of each and every opportunity to experience something new and exciting. When he wasn't off being Captain of a Disney Cruise Ship he was hitting up local anime conventions or catching the latest blockbuster action flick at the movies. Terrence refused to sit idly by and wait for life to come to him; he took the helm of his surroundings and maintained control of his course even on the most turbulent of seas.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
