The gates of heaven opened up today, November 7, 2007, for the arrival of Terry Lynn Amen, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, who was lifted on the wings of angels to her place in eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Terry was born on October 31, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Hector K. and Elena Garcia, and spent the rest of her brief but fruitful life serving others and making an unforgettable mark on all those she touched.
Terry used the last few years of her life doing that which made her happiest of all and had the greatest impact on the world. She was a Spanish teacher and librarian to the children she loved at The Buckner Fanning Christian School at Mission Springs.
Terry Lynn Amen is survived by her husband of 21 years, Mark Amen and their daughters, Chelsea and Denise and her husband Carlos Sanchez, Jr.; her grandson Dominic; along with her parents, Hector K. and Elena Garcia; her sisters, Laura Ann Guerrero and her husband Martin Guerrero, Rosie Garcia, Rebecca Ibarra; and her brothers, Hector Garcia, Jr. and John Chris Garcia and his wife Rosa. Terry Lynn Amen is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and the students and faculty of The Buckner Fanning Christian School at Mission Springs, who she loved and adored as her very own.
It was Terry's wish that contributions be made in her name to The Buckner Fanning Christian School at Mission Springs library, or scholarship fund, or in the special account for Chelsea at the Valero Federal Credit Union instead of flowers, so that the school and children she devoted her life to could continue to blossom and produce good fruit for the Kingdom of God.
