

Dr. Thilo E. Burzlaff, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in San Antonio. Born in Kiel, Germany to Professor Dr. Hans and Karin-Maria Burzlaff, he was raised in Nuremberg, Germany where he graduated medical school in 1990 from University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with an emphasis in Orthopedics and Rheumatology.
Dr. Burzlaff then came to the United States and completed the family practice residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1997 where he received a resident recognition award as well as excellence in research by a family practice resident. He fell in love with the San Antonio community and decided to make this his permanent home.
Dr. Burzlaff served the community proudly since 1998 as a respected and admired physician; he also served as an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Family Practice, at the UTHSC and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Webster University. He also served numerous Hospice groups and was a long time physician at the Army Residence Community and Padua Place. He will be greatly missed by those he served in his compassionate and caring manner until his untimely passing.
He is survived by his wife; Tammy Arabit-Burzlaff, his parents: a brother; Michail Burzlaff and his wife Claudia and their daughters, Louisa, Margaretha and Isabell: sister; Katharina Koop and husband Johannes and their daughters, Anneke and Meike: brother Nicolai Burzlaff and wife Simone and their children, Lara and his Godson; Jan-Frederic Burzlaff; Mother-In-Law, Eleanor Arabit, Father-In-Law, Joseph A. Arabit and his wife Raynee, Brother-In-Law, Joseph M. Arabit and his wife, Aleen along with their two daughters, Alexia and Ashton and Sister-In-Law, Gina Boone with her daughters, Mali, Maci, and Maya.
Visitation and Rosary will take place at Porter Loring Mortuary North on Friday May 27, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
