Thomas was born on September 13, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a devoted father and husband.
Thomas was a 1992 graduate of Texas Tech University and the New England Culinary Institute. Thomas was the Executive Chef and proprietor of the restaurant, Gladys at the Strand, which opened in November 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Ann Benninger; a son, Christian Anthony Benninger; his parents, Nelda Faye and Edward Charles Benninger; a sister and brother-in-law, Bridget Sheri and Michael A. Psaromatis; aunts, Barbara Ann Allen, Suzanne Marie Jeansonne and Lydna Grace Gilreath; and the devoted patrons of his restaurant.
