Tony Gilbert Veltre

Our beloved Tony, age 52, passed away October 20, 2014 after a hard fought, long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the first born child to Charles Louis Veltre and Andrea Marie Santee, welcomed into this world on March 17, 1962 in Redondo Beach, California. Tony led a life of service dedicated to his country in many different ways. He was in the Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist 1980-1984. He served as a police officer for North Richland Hills and Haltom City Texas for 20 years. The last 14 years of his police career he was a distinguished member and Sergeant for SWAT. He also served as a volunteer firefighter, and instructor for the Police academy. After retiring from the police department he worked as an Advisor for the Department of State starting 2004 till present. Tony lived the cowboys’ life. He enjoyed riding horses and loved his cowboy hats, boots and starched Wranglers. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed this pastime with his boys Ty and Nash. Tony enjoyed classic rock from the 80’s with his favorite band being RUSH. He was an accomplished musician who played guitar and shared his passion with friends, performing in a cover band early in life. He was a man of God, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, dedicated many service hours with his talent to be able to fix and build anything, to those he knew and loved. Tony is survived by his adoring wife, Dawn Elizabeth Veltre, his sons Ty Veltre and Nash Veltre, grandson Preston Veltre, parents Charles and Cecilia Veltre, mother Andrea Santee, brothers Larry Veltre, Vincent Veltre, and brothers Paul Stout, Richard Stout, and Scott Stout. Step children: David Stout, Taelor Fernandez, Elizabeth Fernandez, and Wilson Fernandez.

Funeral services will be Saturday October 25, 2014 at 31355 Stahl Lane Road. In lieu of a viewing, an opportunity to visit family will begin at 9:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 am. Tony Gilbert Veltre will be laid to rest in Chatsworth California at Oakwood Memorial Park.
