Richard served in the US Air Force for 27 years. Col. Middleton was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War serving honorably and receiving multiple commendations. He was most proud of being a critical part of Operation Homecoming for POWs returning from the Vietnam War.
His service did not stop with the military. He served faithfully as a longstanding member of Trinity Church, as an Elder, home ministry leader, intercessory prayer ministry leader and a coordinator of Cleansing Stream Ministries.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 26 years, Debra Middleton; children: Diane Williams; Jeanette "Reggie" (Arnold) Sidney; Richard Middleton, Jr; Barbara Thomas; Felice Dancer (Michael); Shanequia "Nicki" Clemons; Sydney Clemons; and Christopher Thompson (in loving memory); 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 goddaughter.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27 from 2-5 pm and with family present from 5-7 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Church, 5415 E Loop 1604 North on Wednesday, December 28 at 11:30 am. Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
