LTC Teel was part of the Tom Brokow's sp? greatest generation, when his branch of service was called US Army Air Corp. He, like others I admire, belonged to a different age, when men fought in the skies for reasons of profound principal, and unaided by anything but their five senses. The likes of Marvin and his generation will not soon pass this way again. He and those he served with are sorely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in your time of sorrow. Marvin will be greatly missed.

To Marvin's wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: I worked for Marvin at USAA for approximately 3 years, from approximately 1979-1981, and I can honestly say that he ranks among those great bosses over my 30-year working career. He was uncommonly kind and understanding and I truly believe he cared more about his employees than satisfying the "corporate objectives". He single-handedly made my stay at USAA a pleasant one, especially after starting there with a not-so-pleasant boss. When I got a divorce and went back to college, he was extremely supportive and allowed me continue on a part-time basis. He even allowed me to work a few extra hours each week beyond the normal 20-hour limit for part-timersuntil he got "caught". He laughed about it and never regretted it. When I was close to graduating, he also tried to get USAA to allow me to do an accounting internship as part of my college curriculum. He was not successful but that was due to the incredible bureaucracy of the organization. So, I know you realize that the world is a better place as a result of Marvin. He certainly left his mark on my life and my heart. I am thankful to have had an opportunity to work with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. With best wishes,

The first memories I have as a little girl of meeting Uncle Marvin and Aunt Pat was when they rolled into Palmyra with their RV, I was probably 4 or 5. I think Uncle Morris and Aunt Bobbie were with them also. My world was expanded, knowing I had relatives who lived far away and who had traveled many roads. Thanks, Uncle Marvin, for the inspiration to broaden my world, too. Becky
