Valentina I. Trinidad, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, went to Heaven peacefully at the age of 83. She was a beacon of joy and warmth, touching the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 25, 1942, Valentina dedicated her life to her family and community. This was especially evident as she helped many people over the course of her 30 years in the chaplain's office at Wilford Hall Medical Center. She was a nurturing presence, always encouraging everyone to live fully and without regrets with a focus on cherishing every moment the good Lord has blessed us with. On that note, Valentina would often say, ”Bring me flowers while I’m alive and can enjoy them, and tell me you love me while I can hear you.” This saying perfectly describes Valentina’s approach to life. Valentina was known for being a devout Catholic, sharing her faith with anyone and everyone that crossed her path. She raised her family on the foundation of Faith, Family, and Freedom, teaching them traditions brought from her ancestors in Mexico, while always showing respect for the great state of Texas and the United States.
The love she shared with her husband was a true love story that began on the dance floor, and it remained a central part of their lives, bringing joy to all who witnessed it. Her legacy of love, laughter, and living life to the fullest will continue to inspire generations to come as evident by so many who have shared that they consider Valentina their second mom.
Valentina is survived by her loving husband, Rafael Trinidad Sr., her children: Paul Anthony Trinidad (Linda), Gabriel I. Trinidad (Carol), Rafael Trinidad Jr. and Dora Trinidad Campos, her grandchildren, Randal Sade Trinidad (Hafa), Kenneth Ray Trinidad (Christina), Cezar Alexander Trinidad, Michael Mendoza (Frank), Jamin Miles Trinidad, Skyler Rey Trinidad, Rafael Trinidad III, Avianna Marie Frady (Jordan), and Ashley Ann Campos her great grandchildren, Noah James Trinidad, Maya Joy Trinidad, and Lunasun Trinidad Ambar, Julian Trinidad, and Dominic Trinidad, and her siblings: Luisa George (Arnold), Janie Ibarra, Ambrose Ibarra (Mary), and Adolph Ibarra.
