Vera Lee Ellis, age 88, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006. She did not die alone, but was surrounded by her loving family who cared for her to the end. She married Ralph Ellis, Jr. on September 30, 1936. They were together for 62 years before his death. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses for 56 years. She remained a strong tower of faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ellis, Jr. and her son, Wilbert E. Ellis. Mrs. Ellis is survived by her daughters, Gloria Ellis, Jean Ellis Love, Delores Hickman and Carolyn Ellis Johnson; her sons, Earnest Ellis, Ralph Ellis III and Rodney Ellis; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A loving mother you'll forever be, your light of life lives with us eternally and when you wake up, we'll be there on a beautiful earth with no more cares. Until then, our hearts will yearn and burn with a desire to touch and see you again. Soon our dear love. Family will have a private burial.
