She is survived by her four children, Herman Polhamus Sr, Joseph Polhamus (wife Sheila), John Polhamus (wife Lori), and Sue Beaton. Jean is also survived by her grandchildren, Vincent, Amy, Daniel, Heather, Jessica, Mindy, Mark, J.R., and Alex, and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Camden, NJ in 1932, Jean attended nursing school in Philadelphia and became a registered nurse. She spent most of her career delivering babies at military hospitals in Georgia, Texas, and Germany.

Jean loved to travel and did extensive traveling in Europe when she was stationed in Germany. After she retired from nursing, she volunteered several summers to work at Yellowstone National Park. She also enjoyed going to Disney World. When Jean wasn’t working or traveling, she would be at her grandkid’s ballgames and other events.
