She attended St. Marys Elementary School and St. Gerards Catholic High School. She graduated from Virginia Military Institute.
In June of 1929, she married Lionel Charles Arthur Wendland who preceded her in death in 1978. She has missed him very much, especially the past few years. They lived in McAllen, Texas moving to San Antonio in 1961, to care for her mother after the death of her father.

Ginger enjoyed golfing and playing poker with her friends at Oak Hills Country Club. Ginger and Lonnie were founding members of Oak Hills Country Club.
In her teens, Ginger was a ballet dancer, performing at Sunken Gardens on many occasions. Paramount Studios offered her a movie contract to dance in their musicals. Sadly her father would not allow her to sign on with the movie studio. As a young woman, she modeled in many ads for local businesses in the San Antonio Express News.
After the death of her husband, Ginger enjoyed traveling the world with her friends. She had a great time and many fond memories of her travels that she shared with everyone she came in contact with.
