

Wayne was born in Hemingway, South Carolina to John and Frances Thomas on January 2, 1950. He attended Southside High School in Florence, South Carolina. He married Diana on June 27, 1998 in San Antonio, TX. Known for unwavering dedication, a warm friendliness, and a steady leadership style, Wayne made a lasting impact during his years with Standard Coffee and in later years with Home Depot. Wayne was a proud veteran of the armed forces and served from 1970 to 1974 in the United States Air Force. Wayne was a faithful Christian, devoted husband, father, son, brother and loving Granddaddy.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Rev. John E. Thomas; mother, Frances Crosby Thomas and brother, Carol Thomas.
Wayne is survived by his wife Diana Thomas. Daughters: Desiree Thomas Jinks (Brian Jinks), Cynthia Garcia, Celeste Ancira (Yadira) and Ruby Ramirez. Brother: Brian Thomas (Amy) Grandchildren: Colton, Josephine, Audrey, Ajiah, Shabana, Janelle, Chloe and Elijiah. Nephew/nieces: Seth (Jazzy), Riley (Bradford) and Cherish (Nick).
Visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238, on April 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Prayer Service at the same location on April 30, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
A Chapel Service will take place at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on May 1, 2026, at 9:30 am, followed by a Committal Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, on May 1, 2026, at 11:00 am.
The family of Wayne wish to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at MD Anderson Cancer and University Hospital. Along with all those who sent their love, prayers and well wishes to Wayne and his family.
