

Wilbert J Kobersky, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on March 26, 2016. He was born in Weimar, TX on November 7, 1925. He enlisted in the US Army right after graduating from Weimar High School and served for 22 years, including tours in WWII and Vietnam. He then taught JROTC at Central Catholic High School for 20 years. He married Theresa Szenhegyi in 1953 and celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2012 before her passing. He loved tending to his garden, woodworking, and waving hello to everyone in the neighborhood from his driveway. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Kobersky and Martha (Janda), brother-in-law Allen, and his wife Theresa. He is survived by his sister Bernice Schramm, of Houston; daughter Patricia Etheridge, of San Antonio; son James Kobersky and wife Linda, of Weimar; granddaughter Sarah Etheridge-Criswell and husband Aaron, of Los Angeles; granddaughter Jamie Faughn and husband Brian, of Las Vegas; grandson Jacob Kobersky, of College Station; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on April 4th at 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Service will be on April 5th at 10:00 am at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to a Veteran organization of your choice.
