

David graduated from Robert E. Lee high school in Baytown, Texas. He joined the Marine Corps, where he served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart among other medals. After devoting 20 years to his military service, David retired and then served in the police departments of Hondo, Cibolo, and Northside ISD before his 2nd retirement.
He enjoyed his woodworking and crafting along with his love for watching baseball, especially the Astros.
He was a member of Northern Hills United Methodist Church, where he was active in the Men's Group. David also proudly completed the Emmaus Walk and was forever joined with them.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha; daughter-in-law, Leslie Alford.
David is survived by his son, David Alford; daughter, Wendy Yeazel and husband, Lee; son Bill Alford and wife Lindsay, son, Bobby Alford and wife, Marcie; three grandsons, Samuel, Holden, Griffin; sister, Diana Alford Byers and 6 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
