Bill was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 18, 1961. He was the first child of Elvira Groff and William Campbell Sr.
Bill had many hobbies growing up which included racing dirt bikes competitively at an early age. Obviously, the love for speed continued into adulthood because he always enjoyed attending NASCAR races. He also had a love and passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors which he was able to enjoy while he worked as a ranch foreman at Lamb Creek Ranch in Kerrville, Texas for 12 years.
Bill was well respected and admired by those he mentored. He was known for being a great friend and always being a good listener. However, those who looked up to him most were his grandchildren. He loved spending time with all five of them, especially teaching them how to fish and hunt. Pops, as his grandchildren knew him, loved the simple things in life like carving pumpkins, handing out candy on Halloween, and barbecuing on the weekends. He was content as long as he was with his family and his longtime companion, Zoey, a German Shorthaired Pointer. He was also very proud of his two children, Kyle and Chelsea and would talk about them every time he had the chance.
Bill will be dearly missed and survived by his two children, Kyle (Allie) and Chelsea (Matt); grandchildren, Kaden, Kirsten, Keegan, Kyzer, and Karson; mother, Elvira Groff (Walter); siblings, Vera Elizondo (Henry) and Jimmy (Heather); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Campbell Sr., and his grandparents, Ralph and Jennie Fuller. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
