

Colonel (Retired) William Grier Cash was born on September 19th, 1930 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He died peacefully after a long illness on November 5th, 2016 surrounded by his wife, family and friends.
He was a proud graduate of Clemson University where he graduated in 1951. He was in the Army over 28 years where he served in Korea and three tours in Vietnam. Among his many awards were the Legion of Merit Medal, the Bronze Star Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster. He was also a proud Mason of the 32nd Degree.
He is preceded in death by his parents Travis and Edith Cash. He is survived by his loving wife Dora V. Cash; niece Linda Phillips and her husband Jack; and niece Kim Spears and her husband Rex. He is also survived by his brothers Travis, Leonard and Joel.
Visitation will be held on Monday, 11/21/2016 at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the funeral service being held Tuesday, 11/22/2016 at 12:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
