William Ashby Maltsberger, Sr.

William (Bill) Ashby Maltsberger, Sr., age 85, passed away on February 15, 2022. He was the husband of Sarah Lee Maltsberger. They shared fifty-six years of marriage and ranching together in La Salle County.

Born in San Antonio, Texas on October 24, 1936, he was the son of John Terry (Jack) Maltsberger, Jr. and Ruth Rogers Maltsberger.

Bill is survived by his five children and sons-in-law, including Bill Jr., Sarita (Brad Bickham), Jack Storey, Annyce (Konrad Kuykendall), and Helena Hatlevig; his eight grandchildren, Brin Ashby (Jon Bressette), Sarah Blake (J.T. Robinson), Lane Ashby and Rafe Lee Kuykendall, Haden Alan, Holden Collins, Mason Ashby, and Madison Lee Hatlevig; and great-grandaughter, Palmer Rae Bressette. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Lee; brother, J.T. "Terry" Maltsberger III, M.D.; his parents; and grandparents.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the following for their care and compassion over the last few years of his life: William A. Atlas, M.D., caregivers, Juanita, Cristabel, Veronica, Agustina, Claudia, Adela, and Vicky.

A private graveside service will be held in the Cotulla Cemetery, Cotulla, Texas.
