Roy was born on January 25, 1937, in Camden, New Jersey, to William Francis Leroy Pearce, Sr. and Mildred Corey Pearce. He grew up in Collingswood, New Jersey, and graduated from Collingswood High School in 1954. Following high school, Roy proudly served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as part of the Infantry Division.
After his military service, Roy moved to Dallas, Texas, where he met and married the love of his life, Sandra Anne (Root) Pearce. They were married for 55 wonderful years and together built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Roy and Sandra began their married life in California, where Roy started his career in the food industry with Dutch Pride. Soon after, they returned to Texas to raise their family, and Roy accepted a partnership with the Lemmons Company. In time, Roy and Sandra founded AMTEC Marketing, a successful food brokerage company that was eventually sold to Orange Brokerage. Together, they also operated S&R Boat Storage and a U-Haul dealership — businesses that reflected Roy's entrepreneurial spirit and Sandra's constant support and dedication.
A devoted family man, Roy loved traveling across the country with Sandra and their children in their motorhome. They proudly visited all 50 states, creating lasting memories with family and friends in Montana, New Jersey, and beyond.
Roy's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a founding member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Roy and Sandra were deeply involved in parish life, often helping with festivals and generously offering their time and service to the community.
Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Anne Pearce; his daughter, Kelly Pearce; his parents, William Francis Leroy Pearce, Sr. and Mildred Corey Pearce; and his sister, Carol (Pearce) Rettburg.
