My deepest sympathies on the passing of your father. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Bill was always a great friend and help to my father, Ham Savage, at the Stock Show Auction. He was an asset to every organization he belonged to and got things done when it seemed impossible. San Antonio, and my family, lost a great friend when Bill was called home to the Lord. May He give you strength in your hours of need.

Several years ago there was an Air Force Officer's Training School at Lackland Air Force Base. Bill was familiar with that school, and thought it would be a good ideal to make the business community familiar with it. He started a Classmate Program that allowed someone from the business community to participate in Officer's Training School as their business schedule would allow. The business person would attend classes, social events, even participate in physical training exercises if they wanted to as an actual member of a class. The "classmate" would graduate with their class and be given a certificate recognizing them as an Honorary Half-Lieutenant. I was fortunate enough to be selected as a "classmate" and enjoyed the experience very much. This program gave me an appreciation for the training that military officers receive, and a much better perspective about our military. One of Bill Roth's legacies is that there are hundreds of Half Lieutenants all over San Antonio that benefited from this program.

Bill was a fine gentleman, a true friend and good hunting companion - we 
will miss him very much. Our deepest sympathy to his family.

Bill was a leader in our Alamo Chapter of the Air Force Association & did a lot to support it. He also helped the local American Society of Military Comptrollers by providing Lone Star Beer for its annual symposiums. 
Bill was a fine man & we miss him a lot.

I met Bill years ago through the Texas Jaycees. What a delightful man. There was always a twinkle in his eyes and whenever he visited with a person, he always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. I want to be like him.. My sincere condolences to the family. He will be missed.

Bill was a special friend. He once told me that he had been John Ben Shepperd's "hey-boy"; maybe in his mind, to the rest of us he was a giant of a man and wonderful mentor. God Bless and keep you, Bill Roth. With love and admiration.

Papa was the greatest, most giving, lovingest person I and my husband have ever known. We are greatful he is not suffering anymore and has finally gone to be with my grandmother, Mimi, his one true love. He has been without her too long, and now he can start living again. In this time of sorrow and loss we are choosing to celebrate his life. We are celebrating that he is now whole again as a person, and that we were blessed enough to be a part of his life while he was here. He would have wanted us all to celebrate, not cry. Have a Lone Star beer in his honor, eat a steak or some barbeque and finish it off with an Elmer's Goldbrick. That would be his idea of a good time. He will always stay dear in our hearts and will never be forgotten. Love,
