

Bill was a patriot having served his country in the Air Force from 1941 to 1946.
In 1947, Bill began his career with Lone Star. He worked at Lone Star Brewery for 47 years and was involved in over 100 civic positions which included San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Manufacturers Association, Texas Parks and Wildlife, San Antonio Livestock Exposition, San Antonio Charity Horse Show, San Antonio Golf Association, San Antonio Council of Presidents, Texas Manufacturers Association, Knights of Columbus, Mexican-American Friendship Committee, United Fund, Air Force Association, Fiesta San Antonio Commission, Elks Club, Rotary Club and others too numerous to mention. He was also a member of the Army Community Council, the Air Force Community Council and San Antonio Anglers Club.
Bill was also an avid sportsman and especially loved hunting and fishing. Bill was a wonderful friend to all he met.
Bill was recognized with several honors and awards during his life. He was especially proud of the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal presented by the U.S. Army and the Exceptional Service Medal presented by the U. S. Air Force both of which are the highest civilian awards respectively.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise. Survivors: daughter, Barbara Roth, San Antonio; sister, Mrs. Jack Mary Osterloh, Hannibal, MO; grandchildren, William Timothy Horan and his wife, Karen, McKinney, TX, Mrs. Tammy Adams and her husband, Keith, Fairfax, VA, Timothy F. Horan III and his wife, Elizabeth, San Antonio; great grandchildren, Tyler Wallace Horan and Ashley Louise Horan, McKinney, TX.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care shown by Chandler Home Staff including Jennifer Gardner, Daniel Smith, Eileen Petter, and Nancy Parker.
