'Bill, it seems like only yesterday but in 1976 at Trim and Swim Health Spa we became friends. We worked out together sat in the steam room and sauna and told jokes that were hysterical !! I remember that I told you I was majoring in Marketing at Trinity University and you told me to come see you when I graduated. It was a shame that you were transferred to Headquarters Munich at that time and I didn't get to work for you as we had planned. I would have followed you into hell if that was our mission. I do think about the time that the executives in Philip Morris couldn't get Benson&Hedges brand into the Southwest Chain that you had the approval over and you and I went to lunch at the Officer's club at Ft. Sam Houston and within an hour you changed your mind. Later that day in November, during the Great American Smoke out, the executives from P.M. came to see you, and after five minutes you said I have already decided to put your brand in the P.X. and commissaries, you've made your point, I made my mind up over two hours ago! They asked what changed your mind you said that you had lunch with Steve Mattick and he convinced you to add the brands to the inventory they asked who is he? You said your Military Merchandiser !! Here I wasn't even a sales rep and I was doing their job for them !! The sales rep was a little red faced about that !!! Bill, after you left for Germany, I only got to get together with you one more time, when your son, Zachary was with you and was about four years old we were at the quadrangle mall on Broadway outside the loop in a lounge called Papas. You still looked great. We said we would keep in touch but we got busy with life but, there hasn't been a day that went by that I didn't think about you and I still will. You don't get to tell many friends that you love them, but I love you my friend. Have a good rest my friend you have well earned it.
